April 2, 2021 – ITegrity would like to congratulate Juliya Dynina for being awarded NOAA Team Member of the Month for the National Weather Service. NOAA recognizes noteworthy achievements that embody the passion and dedication for advancing NOAA’s mission.
Juliya Dynina is a Software Engineer for the NWS Office of Observations, Radar Operations Center, in Silver Spring, Maryland. Juliya recently worked with several NWS Forecast Offices to successfully deploy software updates to the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), a cornerstone tool for all NWS forecasts and warnings, which improved the use of low-level radar data from the NWS NEXRAD radar network. To implement the new software, Juliya carefully coordinated with each Forecast Office and gradually added sites with different configurations to validate proper operation. Whenever new issues arose, Juliya carefully troubleshot problems, identified solutions, submitted change requests, developed software fixes, and ensured modifications were properly integrated into the next AWIPS software release. Through her dedication and exceptional teamwork, Juliya enabled the prompt and successful rollout of an important new NWS forecasting capability. Her positive influence on office morale, willingness to take on new challenges, ability to find flexible and innovative solutions, and skill in working with others have helped enable NWS to meet its mission.
